The JEALOUS TYPE Mindset
July 5, 2026 – Kaleigh Ralph
JEALOUS TYPE is more than a name. It's a reminder to trust yourself and stop seeking validation from people who are committed to misunderstanding you.
For a long time, I struggled to understand why I cared so much about other people's opinions of me. Their attitude and backhanded comments about the way I show up boldly as myself often made me wonder, am I doing something wrong?
My mom would always say the same thing: "They're just jealous."
At first I didn’t believe this, but those words did something important - they stopped me from questioning my worth. They reminded me that someone else's behavior doesn't define who I am.
That simple mindset became the foundation of what JEALOUS TYPE stands for.
It's not about arrogance. It's about confidence.
The JEALOUS TYPE mindset isn't about assuming everyone envies you. It's about refusing to shrink yourself because of other people's opinions. It's about understanding that confidence will always make some people uncomfortable.
People will project their insecurities onto you. People will criticize what they secretly wish they had the courage to do themselves. Instead of letting that negativity break your confidence, let it fuel your growth, not your doubt.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that I spent far too much time making myself smaller so other people could feel comfortable. I dimmed my personality, questioned my decisions, and even downplayed my achievements.
Never do this.
The moment you start making yourself smaller to make others feel bigger, you sacrifice the very things that make you powerful and authentic.
The JEALOUS TYPE mindset works everywhere.
No matter the situation, whether it's a friend, a coworker, or even a stranger - remember that their behavior is a reflection of them, not you. Protect your confidence.
The right people won't ask you to become less of yourself. They'll encourage you to become more.
When you choose to celebrate others instead of competing with them, acknowledge their strengths instead of feeling threatened by them, and genuinely want to see them succeed, you bring a light into every room you walk through.
That kind of energy is magnetic.
Confidence is not something you earn from others - it's something you choose for yourself.
Because at the end of the day, the most important opinion you'll ever have is your own.
So, if they talk, let them.
They're just the JEALOUS TYPE.
With love,
Kaleigh

“People will project their insecurities onto you. People will criticize what they secretly wish they had the courage to do themselves.”
This is something I’ve dealt with my entire life.
People would often say, “Wow, you’re so confident.” They said it about the way I carry myself, what I wear, how I do my makeup, and how openly I practice self-love. It’s supposed to be a compliment, but the tone made me wonder what they really meant. Was it genuine, or was it, “I can’t believe you’re that confident?”
I’ve heard the same thing when it comes to the way I’ve chosen to live my life.
I’ve taken an unconventional path, and people’s reactions often sound like:
“I can’t believe you move around so much.”
“I can’t believe you move by yourself.”
“I can’t believe you’re not using your degree.”
“I can’t believe you’d leave without a plan.”
“I could never do that.”
And my honest thought has always been: I know you couldn’t. That’s why I’m doing it and you’re not.
If I’ve ever felt called to do something, I’ve done it. I’m deeply connected to myself, and I trust my instincts. I trust that I know what’s right for me. Learning to tune out those outside voices has been one of the most important lessons of my life. Those comments were never really about me. They were reflections of other people’s fears, limitations, and insecurities.
I know what’s best for me, regardless of social expectations or what is considered traditional.
That’s why I love what JEALOUS TYPE stands for.
I can’t wait to see more women embrace this mindset, trust themselves, and live unapologetically. Bravo. 👏
